This is an Australian Single Malt whisky made at New World Whisky Distillery situated in Melbourne. They began distilling in 2010, and it is owned by a consortium of about 100 investors and headed up by David Vitale. It is made from 100% Australian Malted Barley.

The Maturation is unusual in that they use Apea (Australian sherry) barrels, which are quite old, averaging 20 years old. The Casks are different sizes 50, 100 and 200 litres. The climate in Melbourne is very changeable so maturation a is swift.

Taste Rating Guide

1 - Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan

2 - Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn

3 - A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan

4 - A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
