BenRiach distillery is situated in the heart of Speyside between the towns of Rothes and Elgin. It is owned by Billy Walker, veteran distiller and blender along with two South African partners. The distillery makes a light bodied honeyish style spirit and a peaty smoky spirit.


This Limited Edition bottling Vintage 1999 bottled at 13 years old has benefited from being Finished - spend the last part of its maturation - in Virgin American Oak casks. These are casks that are new and haven't had any other liquid in them.


Nose - Full and sweet, with notes of toasted vanilla, clotted cream and barley sugar.


Taste - Vibrant and intense sweet toasted oak, rich vanilla and honey. Caramelized apples. Creamy with some floral notes.


Finish - Dry and elegant

Taste Rating Guide

1 - Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan

2 - Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn

3 - A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
