The English whisky company has been distilling spirit since 2006 and their whiskies available offer a wide range of flavours, the distillery produces both peated and un-peated whiskies while they also use a variety of different casks for certain releases.
This bottling is part of their small batch releases. A range of whiskies that only ever uses four or five casks per batch (leaving them very little room for error, highlighting the quality of the whisky inside). Smokey oak uses ex-American oak casks for the maturation and heavily peated barley.
Tasting Notes.
Nose- Sweet vanilla notes with hints of citrus and lots of smoke as well
Palate- Starts off sweet, ginger builds with the smoke makes it’s self known.
Finish- Long, dry, lingering peat smoke.
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
