The Famous Grouse is one of the most recognisable Scottish Blends today and has had a long standing following with whisky drinkers. Currently owned by The Edrington Group (who also own several brands and distilleries including The Macallan and Highland park), Famous Grouse uses both grain and malt whiskies specially selected for their recipe.
Blended using a peated malt to produce a deliciously smoky yet sweet whisky. Smooth, peaty and aromatic, this is a complex yet approachable blend with hints of dried fruit and soft smoky notes.

Taste Rating Guide

1 - Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan

2 - Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn

3 - A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan

4 - A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
