‘As we get it’ is an independent bottling by Ian Macleod & Co. The aim is to present whiskies without the use of colouring, chill-filtration, and by keeping them at their natural cask strength. Hence the name sake. They select some of the best casks available to bottle for each batch, batch being the key word, as these whiskies will also have slight varieties to them as well, both the ABV and colour differs between releases. However, no matter the varieties the whisky will retain all the original flavours and oils that have developed over its life. This single malt is from Islay and although we do not know the distillery of origin it is a great example of whisky available from the island.

Taste Rating Guide

1 - Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan

2 - Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn

3 - A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan

4 - A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
