The Dalmore distillery is situated on the north shore of the Cromarty Firth in the Northern Highlands of Scotland. They have six copper stills of varying shapesw and sizes which gives a complex spirit, which is matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.

This 18 year old is matured initially in American white oak ex-boubon casks for forteen years then the whisky is transfered into 30 year old Matusalem Oloroso Sherry casks for another four years. The Matusalem casks give 30 years worth of rich, chocolete, dreid fruity flavours to the whisky.

Taste Rating Guide

1 - Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan

2 - Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn

3 - A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan

4 - A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
