This iconic distillery situated on the Isle of Skye was founded in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskil, sons of the local Doctor. Today it is owned by the mighty Diageo, who very much run it traditionally.

Talisker is a heavy, peaty , peppery whisky, very complex with lots of dark chocolate, raisins sherry and oak. it is just the sort of Dram you expect from the magnificent Isle of Skye.

This expression - the Storm - has a bit of a smoked fish, seaside flavour to it.

This expression benefits from spending the last part of its maturation in ex-Amoroso sherry casks making a richer more succulent Dram - makes you want a leather armchair a roaring fire and a Smoking Jacket - maybe not the Jacket.

Taste Rating Guide

1 - Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan

2 - Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn

3 - A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan

4 - A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
