Kilchoman Distillery is located on the Isle of Islay, off the west coast of Scotland. Established in 2005 by Anthony Wills, Kilchoman is one of the smallest distilleries on the island. They operate as a farm distillery, meaning that they grow a portion of their barley on-site, making them one of the few distilleries in Scotland to do so. This allows them to have greater control over the entire whisky-making process, from barley cultivation to bottling.
Known for their peated whiskies, the distillery crafts their whisky using locally sourced barley and traditional floor malting techniques. Their whiskies often give a bold, smoky character, like most Islay drams, along with layers of complexity and depth.
The 100% Islay 14th Edition was distilled from Kilchoman's 2013 and 2014 barley harvests before being matured in selected Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks for a minimum of 9 years.
The combination of Bourbon and Sherry cask maturation has created layers of vanilla, butterscotch and rich fruity character. A beautiful balance with the natural citrus sweetness and floral peat smoke of the 100% Islay spirit.

Nose - Campfire smoke, preserved lemon, orange peel, tropical sweetness.
Palate - Creamy caramelised sugars, vanilla, lemon, pineapple sweetness, fresh ginger, and oak smoke.
Finish - Oily and textured with rich sherry notes and lasting peat smoke.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
