Aberlour Distillery is situated on the edge of Charlestown of
Aberlour, a small town on the banks of the river Spey. It is also home to Walkers Shortbread. James Fleming founded the distillery in 1826. Currently, Chivas Brothers, a part of the French company Pernod Richard, run it. The distillery draws its water from the nearby Ben Rinnes mountain, known for its pure and soft water, which is crucial in creating the distinct character of Aberlour whisky.
In Gaelic, Aberlour Casg Annamh translates to 'Rare Cask', and it is meticulously crafted from a limited number of carefully selected casks. These Spanish Oak Oloroso Sherry casks have a significant influence on the non-chill filtered liquid. They perfectly complement Aberlour’s distillate flavour, bringing sweet and rich notes. Casg Annamh is a distinctively rich Single Malt. It provides adventurous malt lovers with the ideal introduction to Sherry cask matured whiskies.
