Isle of Arran in Scotland. Harold Currie, a former director of Chivas, founded the distillery in 1995. It marked the revival of whisky production on the Isle of Arran, which had been without a legal distillery since 1837.
Construction of the distillery began in the village of Lochranza on the northern tip of the Isle of Arran. In June 1995, the copper pot stills at Arran Distillery produced the first spirit, marking the official inauguration of the distillery. The distillery maintains its independence and operates with a dedicated focus on crafting high-quality whiskies. Renowned for its commitment to traditional craftsmanship, Arran Distillery utilises copper pot stills to impart distinctive character to its spirits.
In 2016, the company began to build a second distillery in Lagg, located at the south end of the island. Lagg Distillery began production in April 2019. Since the introduction of the new distillery, the two distilleries are now referred to as 'Lochranza' and 'Lagg'.
Arran Gold Cream Liqueur was first launched in 2004, and since then has become increasingly popular. Made with a healthy dose of Arran, this is a cream liqueur where you can really taste the quality.
