Connemara undoubtedly stands out among Irish whiskeys as the sole widely available
Irish Peated Single Malt Whiskey today. Inspired by the 18th century art of drying malting barley over peat fires, this Irish single malt whiskey possesses a distinct peaty flavour and aroma, instilling a delicate smokiness and smooth, sweet taste. Its complex peat flavours and smooth, sweet malt taste make it a truly unique Irish whiskey.
Connemara is a double-distilled bottling, as opposed to the more usual triple-distillation process that most Irish whiskeys undergo. This choice is made because the third distillation is believed to eliminate some of the flavour components. Connemara's ageing process takes place in Bourbon casks.
Connemara 12 Years Old brings together bold peat flavour with rich spice and lingering wood tones, drawn from some of their oldest casks and matured for 12 years in American Oak.
