Indian single malt produced by Piccadily Distilleries in Indri, Haryana. Barley cultivation in Rajasthan's arid desert climate dates back thousands of years. In the production of Indri's spirits, they use traditional Indian six-row barley, grown with indigenous, organic, and sustainable methods. Named after the Sanskrit word meaning 'belonging to fire', the name 'Agneya' reflects not the chaotic nature of fire, but its clarity, balance, and purpose. Matured in a combination of Pedro Ximenez Sherry and American Oak Bourbon casks, Agneya develops a complex character, shaped by the interplay of fire and wood during the ageing process.
These casks lend notes of vanilla, caramel and toasted wood from the bourbon casks, while seasoned sherry casks enrich the spirit with layers of dried fruits, warm spices, and nutty undertones which allows the whisky to develop a nuanced depth and complexity showcasing the distinct influence of both cask types.
