Starward Distillery is an Australian whisky distillery located in Melbourne, Victoria. Established in 2007 by David Vitale, the inspiration for Starward came from David's desire to craft a whisky that reflected the essence of Australia. He set out to craft a whisky that wasn’t just made in Australia but embodied Australia in its character, flavours, and production techniques. Drawing from his background in the brewing industry, he found inspiration in the craft brewing movement and became driven by the idea of creating something uniquely local.
Starward prides itself on using 100% Australian ingredients. The distillery sources its barley from local farms and matures its whisky in Australian red wine barrels.
Crafted exclusively for the European market, Left-Field is a fruit-forward, spicy Australian single malt whisky, fully matured in French Oak red wine barrels. The distillery sources all its barrels locally, within a day's drive of Melbourne. Left-Field is bursting with notes of tropical fruits, blackcurrant and a hint of spice.

Nose - Estery and bright tropical fruit character with a touch of blackcurrant and spice.
Palate - Soft aromatics of tropical fruits, red apple skin, fresh blackberries and a touch of vanilla.
Finish - Delicate and fruit forward.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
