Situated in Ballindalloch, Speyside, the distillery features traditional stone buildings and a picturesque setting near the River Spey. They draw water from the Ben Rinnes mountain, and operate with direct-fired copper pot stills, a traditional method that many distilleries have modernised away from. Known for their extensive use of Oloroso sherry casks, which are crucial in developing the rich and complex flavours of Glenfarclas whiskies.
Glenfarclas typically produce robust and full-bodied whiskies. With rich sherry influences, notes of dried fruit, nuts, and spices, and a long, smooth finish.

Colour - Dark amber-gold.
Nose - Intense, full of aromas. Sherried fruit, tropical fruit, nutmeg and almonds with slight citrus notes at the end.
Flavour - Full bodied, rich and round. Develops slowly into fruity and spicy flavours.
Finish - Long-lasting and smooth with a chocolate feel at the back of your throat.

1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
