Ballindalloch Distillery sits on the picturesque Ballindalloch
Estate. Nearby lies the famous Ballindalloch Castle, the estate golf course, popular fishing beats, and fields dedicated to arable farming. The distillery uses these fields to grow spring barley, ensuring 100% of the barley used in whisky production comes from the estate. The distillery occupies a converted steading, where the team filled its first casks in September 2014.
Family-owned and operated, Guy MacPherson-Grant, the laird of the Ballindalloch Estate, is thoroughly involved with the running and development of the distillery. The MacPherson-Grant family has called Ballindalloch home since 1546 and boasts a rich history in distilling. The estate housed a small distillery in the 1800s, and Sir George MacPherson-Grant co-founded Cragganmore Distillery in 1869.
This 2016 bottling is the second of the distillery's Vintage Releases for the UK. It's a marriage of first-fill Bourbon Hogsheads and first-fill Sherry Butts.
