Cooper King Distillery is an independent, eco-conscious distillery located in the heart of
Yorkshire. Established in 2016, it was founded by Chris Jaume and Abbie Neilson, who were inspired by their travels to Tasmania, Australia, where they experienced the world of craft distilling. Upon returning to the UK, they sought to create a similar experience, focusing on high-quality spirits with a strong emphasis on sustainability and craftsmanship.
England's first producer of net-zero energy whisky, Cooper King accomplished this after six years of commitment to sustainability. Made possible through the use of NASA-developed insulation technology and stills powered by renewable energy sources.
Embark on a journey from the vineyards of Bordeaux to the bourbon-producing regions of Kentucky with a distinctive dram matured in casks from both areas. 'Transatlantic' is apart of Cooper King's Expedition Series, showcasing whisky aged in some of the finest casks from their warehouse.
Premium Bordeaux wine casks impart notes of toasted oak, cocoa, and stewed fruit. The tannins integrating seamlessly with the complex, fruity spirit. The use of varying cask toast levels adds a rich depth of flavour, inspired by the exploration of bold, wine-cask-matured whiskies in Tasmania. Finished with layers of vanilla and cinnamon from Kentucky bourbon casks.
1208 bottles, released in Spring 2024.
