Elijah Craig is created by Heaven Hill Distillers, based in Kentucky. The whiskey is names after Reverend Elijah Craig a Baptist preacher, educator and entrepreneur who built the first paper and wool mills in Georgetown, Kentucky. However, it was his gift as a distiller and innovator that gave him his legacy.
In 1789, Elijah Craig became the first distiller to age his whiskey in new charred oak barrels. Over the years, he continued to refine the barrel charring process, imparting smooth, rich flavour to the spirit that would become known as Bourbon. 250 years later, he is still known as the Father of Bourbon. Today, the distillery still crafts this bourbon using the same time honoured methods.
Elijah Craig Small Batch owes its distinctive warm spice and subtle smoke flavour to Level 3 charred oak barrels. Handcrafted by the Master Distillers, this is a favourite of Bourbon connoisseurs and casual whiskey fans alike.

Colour - Burnished copper.
Aroma - Delightfully complex with notes of vanilla bean, sweet fruit, and fresh mint.
Taste - Smooth and warm; pleasantly woody with accents of spice, smoke, and nutmeg.
Finish - Long, sweet, and slightly toasty.
Proof - 94 Proof.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
