The project is the brain-child of Pete Currie, son of Harold Currie, Founder of Arran Distillery. A small distillery, they can produce about 240,000 litres a year.
The Whiskymaker’s Editions is a series of one-off releases showcasing the sense of adventure of the whiskymakers. Each Edition is an exceptional diversion from The Lakes sherry-led house style. An expression of creative freedom, the product of a playground where instinct, experience and inspiration roam free.
The Lakes Resfeber whisky draws inspiration from the thrill of exploration, the courage to take risks, and the excitement of venturing into uncharted territory. Bottling the excitement and energy at the outset of a journey, Resfeber is a vibrant and complex whisky, showing the influence of Cream Sherry in combination with tart red wine barriques.
With a core of cream sherry seasoned casks and additional character from red wine barriques, Resfeber bottles the excitement and energy at the outset of a journey, the restless race of the traveller’s heart before setting off. The team at The Lakes are venturing into less-explored sherry cask territory. Vibrant and complex, creamy yet tart, with aromas of apple dipped in toffee treacle, gentle baking spices, notes of Maraschino cherry and rose petal preserve and a warming finish.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
