Kilchoman Distillery is located on the Isle of
Islay, off the west coast of Scotland. Established in 2005 by Anthony Wills, Kilchoman is one of the smallest distilleries on the island. They operate as a farm distillery, meaning that they grow a portion of their barley on-site, making them one of the few distilleries in Scotland to do so. This allows them to have greater control over the entire whisky-making process, from barley cultivation to bottling.
Known for their peated whiskies, the distillery crafts their whisky using locally sourced barley and traditional floor malting techniques. Their whiskies often give a bold, smoky character, like most Islay drams, along with layers of complexity and depth.
Named after the farm which the distillery sits on, Rockside is Islay's only Single Farm Single Malt. It's been grown, malted, peated, distilled, matured and bottled on Rockside Farm.
This 11 year old bottling was distilled from barley grown on the farm over a decade ago. Lightly peated to 20 PPM and matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks. Offering a delicate balance of light smoke, tropical fruit, citrus sweetness and mixed spices.
