The company continues to be an independent, family owned business, born out of the family's passion for single malt whisky.
Built for the sole intention of handcrafting the finest English Single Malt, at the time of the distillery's completion, it was England's first whisky distillery in over 100 years. King Charles III officially opened the distillery in March 2007.
The English Distillery offer whiskies of a wide range of flavours. They produce both peated and un-peated whiskies and also use a variety of different casks for certain releases. They have whisky maturing in their warehouses to last 40 years. Alongside the single malts, they also produce a range of whisky liqueurs.
They crafted and bottled this 11 year old whisky as their initial standard aged expression. This delightful, unpeated single malt has earned multiple industry awards over the years and sees an annual release.
Official Tasting Notes
A complex nose with gentle notes of vanilla and citrus. A subtle herbal note; think mint and sage. Very fruity with hints of baked apple, peach, mango, dried apricots and cherries. A background note of almond nuttiness. The oak from the casks comes across as clean pencil shavings.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
