Thirlings is an invitation to embrace the traditions of the past while celebrating the vibrant present. Crafted with meticulous care and using botanicals with a Northumbrian heart and Anglo-Saxon soul. Thirlings Dry Gin is inspired by the flavours of Northumberland, capturing the essence of Ad Gefrin’s natural surroundings. Heather and pine from the hills, elderberry and dill from the hedgerow, and Irish moss and sea buckthorn from the coast.
Official Tasting Notes
Nose - Thirlings is a dry gin, naturally heavy on the juniper with pine and citrus notes. These notes are the most prevalent on the nose. Although, there are hints of cinnamon and spice in the background as well as the earthy floral notes of heather.
Palate - On the palate, at first Thirlings is almost sweet. Giving way to green notes of dill and herbs which finally evolves into the presence of juniper, pine and lemon drops.
Finish - To finish there are delicate citrus notes of orange, juniper and a saline twist provided by the Irish Moss bringing a full bodied element to the gin.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
