White Peak Distillery was founded in 2016 and is located in Ambergate, Derbyshire. The brainchild of Max and Claire Vaughan, it is Derbyshire’s first full-scale craft distillery, with a proud focus on the unique Derbyshire provenance and heritage. The building itself was an old wire works and is now part of a UNESCO world heritage site. They released their first single malt whisky in 2022. In addition to this, they produce Shining Cliff gin, a cask-aged rum, and the 1876 Single Malt Cocktail, all of which they mature, bottle, and label on site. As our closest distillery, we are proud to have been a supporter of White Peak since they were first established.
Wire Works Calvados Arrivée is a dual maturation of White Peak's lightly peated spirit, initially aged in ex-Bourbon barrels, and finished in first-fill Calvados casks for three years. Calvados, an apple cider brandy from northern France, matured in these casks for a decade.
A sweet, fruity and elegant single malt whisky, bursting with fresh apple notes, presenting their trademark mouthfeel, and a gentle lingering wisp of smoke. Perfect for summertime highballs!
A limited release of 987 bottles.
Official Tasting Notes
Vibrant and sweet, fruity and biscuity, with layers of apples and vanilla.
Nose - Green apples, vanilla extract, rhubarb and custard, fresh cut grass, fruit salad sweets, raspberries, watermelon and dolly mixtures.
Palate - White chocolate, baked apple pie, cinder toffee, green grapes, digestive biscuits, honeydew melon, cinnamon buns and icing sugar.
Finish - Delicate smoke, baking spices, meringue and apple crumble.
Limited to 2 bottles per customer.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
