The English Distillery is based in Roudham, Norfolk. James and Andrew Nelstrop, a father and son team, established the distillery in 2006. The Nelstrop damily have a long history in farming, and James had a long-time ambition of opening a distillery. The company continues to be an independent, family owned business, born out of the family's passion for single malt whisky.
Built for the sole intention of handcrafting the finest English Single Malt, at the time of the distillery's completion, it was
England's first whisky distillery in over 100 years. King Charles III officially opened the distillery in March 2007.
The English Distillery offer whiskies of a wide range of flavours. They produce both peated and un-peated whiskies and also use a variety of different casks for certain releases. They have whisky maturing in their warehouses to last 40 years. Alongside the single malts, they also produce a range of whisky liqueurs.
The Norfolk Nog is a wonderful whisky cream. Made with The English Distillery's Single Malt Whisky and lots of cream, the resulting Nog is both light and delicate. Best served on ice, but equally at home poured over ice cream. This is a drink to be shared with friends.
