Evan Williams, was a Welsh immigrant originally from Pembrokeshire. He had emigrated to the USA at the end of the 18th century, settling in Kentucky. He founded his first distillery on the banks of the Ohio River in 1783. This was the first commercial distillery in
Kentucky and the town of Louisville grew up around it.
Today, this whiskey is made by Heaven Hill distillery in Louisville. The spirit is matured for 4 years (only 2 years are required to call it straight whiskey), and is one of the best selling bourbons in the world. The use of charred oak barrels give the bourbon its distinct colour and rich flavour.
Evan Williams Honey combines the smoothness of their Straight Kentucky Bourbon with the sweetness of real, natural honey.
