The distillery uses these fields to grow spring barley, ensuring 100% of the barley used in whisky production comes from the estate. The distillery occupies a converted steading, where the team filled its first casks in September 2014.
Family-owned and operated, Guy MacPherson-Grant, the laird of the Ballindalloch Estate, is thoroughly involved with the running and development of the distillery. The MacPherson-Grant family has called Ballindalloch home since 1546 and boasts a rich history in distilling. The estate housed a small distillery in the 1800s, and Sir George MacPherson-Grant co-founded Cragganmore Distillery in 1869.
This is a single cask release, bottled for the UK and Hong Kong markets. Matured in Cask No. 283 - an Oloroso Sherry Butt, originally filled on 4th June 2015. Bottled on 1st July 2026, producing an outturn of 630 bottles.
Official Tasting Notes
Nose - Raisins, figs, orange peel, dark cherries and warming baking spices.
Palate - Rich dried fruits, dark chocolate, Christmas cake, cinnamon, cloves and roasted nuts.
Finish - Long, full-bodied and warming with espresso, oak spice and lingering sherry sweetness.
