Glen Grant Distillery was founded in 1840 by brothers John and James Grant, two former illegal distillers and smugglers who decided to take out a license, in Rothes,
Speyside. In 1872, the distillery underwent significant changes under the management of James Grant (known as 'The Major'), who was instrumental in shaping its future. Known for his innovative approach, James introduced the use of tall, narrow pot stills and the use of purifiers. These innovations contributed to the light, smooth character of Glen Grant whisky. The Italian company Campari Group currently owns the company, having acquired it in 2006.
Sourcing their water from the Caperdonich Well, Glen Grant is still known for its tall, slender pot stills and purifiers, contributing to its distinctive light and clear spirit. They primarily age the whisky in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, with some use of sherry casks for added complexity.
The Glen Grant 10 year old is a vibrant whisky with golden hues celebrating sunrise over the distillery garden. Matured in hand-selected ex-Bourbon barrels and Oloroso Sherry casks, this single malt promises a velvety flair with flavours of orchard fruits and butterscotch. Warming and evocative with every sip.
