Founded in 1967 by Mackinlay McPherson in Aberlour, GlenAllachie Distillery operated until 1985 when it was mothballed. The distillery saw a revival in 1989 by Invergordon Distillers. In 2017, Billy Walker, Graham Stevenson, and Trisha Savage acquired the distillery, marking a new chapter in its history. Billy is a skilled Veteran Master Distiller who engineered the move from concentrating on providing for blending to Single Malt bottling.
In 2018, the
Speyside distillery launched its first core range of GlenAllachie single malts just nine months after taking ownership. This release marked a significant milestone as it was the first-ever range of single malts from the distillery, which had previously been used to create premium blends. In 2024, the company rebranded, giving GlenAllachie 'a new visual identity', representing their evolution since 2018.
This acclaimed Speyside single malt is a drinks cabinet staple that showcases GlenAllachie's independent approach. Their core philosophy, which forms the foundation of this flagship bottling, asserts that exceptional wood plays a crucial role in crafting superlative whisky.
GlenAllachie 12 Years Old offers satisfyingly complex yet perfectly balanced flavours, including sweet spice, dark roasted coffee, stewed apples, and cocoa powder. It is a full-bodied whisky that you can enjoy according to your preferences.
