Founded in 1967 by Mackinlay McPherson in Aberlour, GlenAllachie Distillery operated until 1985 when it was mothballed. The distillery saw a revival in 1989 by Invergordon Distillers. In 2017, Billy Walker, Graham Stevenson, and Trisha Savage acquired the distillery, marking a new chapter in its history. Billy is a skilled Veteran Master Distiller who engineered the move from concentrating on providing for blending to Single Malt bottling.
In 2018, the
Speyside distillery launched its first core range of GlenAllachie single malts just nine months after taking ownership. This release marked a significant milestone as it was the first-ever range of single malts from the distillery, which had previously been used to create premium blends. In 2024, the company rebranded, giving GlenAllachie 'a new visual identity', representing their evolution since 2018.
The Wood Collection is the result of the finest oak and seamlessly coordinated collaboration. An inspired range of carefully crafted and cask-perfected whiskies, each personally approved by Billy Walker. This collection of unique single malts truly represents the wonders of wood.
Oloroso Sherry undergoes extensive ageing without a 'flor' yeast layer, resulting in its distinction as the darkest dry Sherry style known for its pronounced nutty and dried fruit qualities. Maturation in well-seasoned Oloroso butts has delivered bold layers of coffee beans, sticky raisins, stem ginger and figs that all work in tandem with GlenAllachie's honey-rich house style.
