Laphroaig is a legendary distillery on the Isle of
Islay. Founded in 1815 by Donald and Alexander Johnston, it is very much a love it or hate it whisky having a very medicinal peaty and smoky flavour. Beam Suntory currently owns Laphroaig, and the distillery produces over three million litres of alcohol each year.
It proudly holds the Royal Warrant of King Charles III, personally bestowed upon it during his visit to the distillery in 1994 when he held the title of Prince of Wales.
Unforgettable flavours from the classic 10 Year Old whisky find harmony with the sweetness and complexity of Oloroso Sherry. Finished in European Sherry Oak casks for a particularly memorable single malt. This unique expression begins with the same time-honoured process that goes into the regular 10 Year Old Laphroaig.
After drawing rich character from ex-Bourbon barrels, the spirit then rests in casks which have previously been filled with sweet Oloroso Sherry. Each barrel is hand selected to add extra complexity to this quintessential Scottish Single Malt. It’s what layers notes of Manuka honey and grilled bacon onto their renowned flavours of peat smoke and seaweed.
