Glendullan Distillery was established in
Dufftown in 1897 by Aberdeen-based blender and broker William Williams. In 1925, Williams merged with Greenlees Brothers, and The Distillers Company later absorbed the combined business.
In 1972, the company built a second distillery next door and operated both sites until closing the original one in 1985. Following the 1997 merger of Guinness plc (which owned The Distillers Company) and Grand Metropolitan, Glendullan Distillery became part of the newly formed Diageo.
Formed in 1988 by Andrew and Brian Symington, the Signatory Vintage Scotch Whisky Company offers a great range of small batch independent bottlings. They bottle one cask at a time, capitalising on the unique colour and flavour characteristics of each individual cask. They source all-natural malts from the best distilleries in Scotland, selecting the best single batches and bottling only the finest casks within those batches.
This bottling is apart of Signatory Vintage's Cask Strength Collection. Bottling a whisky at cask strength means taking the whisky directly from the barrel without diluting it with water. Therefore boosting its alcohol content and intensifying its flavour and strength. Distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2025, this whisky matured for 15 years, finishing in a 1st fill Oloroso Sherry Hogshead. Bottled at 55.5% ABV, an un-chillfiltered single malt, with no added colouring.
