Highlands of Scotland. The distillery's site originally hosted a brewery, but the Matheson brothers converted it into a whisky distillery, using second-hand gin stills.
Glenmorangie began as a small distillery and gained recognition by the late 19th century. The Macdonald family acquired it in 1918, expanding its production and reach. In 2004, the brand was acquired by Moët Hennessy, its current owner.
Famous for its exceptionally tall stills, which stand at 8 meters, Glenmorangie's stills are among the tallest in Scotland and contribute to the whisky’s distinctive light character.
The vibrant flavours of spice markets has inspired Glenmorangie's A Tale of Spices. Matured in four types of casks - Moroccan red wine, new charred oak, Pedro Ximénez sherry, and shaved toasted red wine casks.
This release continues Dr. Bill’s innovative approach to whisky making, incorporating Moroccan wine casks - rarely used in the industry - for added depth. Glenmorangie first used the shaved toasted red wine casks in Milsean, the seventh Private Edition, released in 2016.
