Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, a family-owned business with deep roots in the whisky industry, produces Mac-Talla. The Morrison family, involved in whisky distilling and blending for five generations, brings a wealth of experience and passion to their craft. They created the brand to honour Islay's unique characteristics and to offer whisky enthusiasts an authentic taste of the island. The name 'Mac-Talla', which means 'echo' in Gaelic, reflects the brand's dedication to capturing and echoing the essence of Islay in each bottle.
Islay, known for its peaty and smoky whiskies, provides the perfect backdrop for the brand. The island's rugged landscape, maritime climate, and rich peat bogs contribute to the distinctive flavours found in Islay whiskies. Mac-Talla sources its whisky from some of the finest distilleries on the island, ensuring high-quality and representative expressions of Islay's terroir.
On the shores of Islay, two worlds meet: the turbulent sea and the rugged land. This convergence creates a bold, powerful, and smoky character, capturing the essence of Islay and the taste of Mara.
Mac-Talla Mara has been matured in American Oak casks. This whisky is bottled at cask strength, un-chill filtered and without added colour. Resulting in a bold, powerful and smokey whisky.

Nose - Intense bonfire smoke with hints of citrus zest.
Taste - Smoked barbecue meat, charred oak and a long powerful finish. Intense and smoky for those adventurous palates.

1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
