Tácnbora is the first offering from England's northernmost whisky distillery. The name translates to 'the standard bearer' and a sign of even greater things to come.
Tácnbora is a thoughtful and evocative blend. It brings together Irish grain whiskey and Scottish grain and malt whiskies, representing two of the four regional origins of the people who populated the kingdom of Northumbria, with additional wood enhancement in the Northumbrian heartland.
This Tácnbora is a special edition bottling, finished for nine months in ex-Sauternes Oak Casks. This adds a honeyed sweetness, vibrant acidity, and stone-fruit brightness to Tácnbora’s smooth, creamy foundation. Bottled at cask strength, this is a rich and expressive whisky - full of character!

Nose - Honeyed apricots, cedar, orange peel, vanilla, spice.
Palate - Toffee, almond, stone fruits, dried apricots, honey, oak.
Finish - Coconut, white pepper, pine, vanilla.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
