Pinkster is made with real raspberries and has been titillating taste buds since 2013, after being launched by Stephen Marsh. Stephen, a keen forager and maker of sloe liqueurs, started to turn his attention to gin and begun to experiment at home, mashing assorted fruits with different spirit strengths. He eventually found that raspberries delivered the best flavour, and begun to create a recipe.
After deciding to go commercial, Stephen recruited G&J, one of the country’s oldest distillers, to produce the core spirit with five botanicals to their original recipe. They then add a further three botanicals, including the raspberries, to produce the finished Pinkster
gin.
Pinkster is a quirky premium gin, distilled at Barley, near Cambridge, in small batches. The distinctive colour and flavour comes from mixing locally grown raspberries into the core spirit, as well as other botanicals.
The team have always been passionate about including fresh fruit rather than artificial flavourings, setting them apart from other distillers. The raspberries are grown locally to their rural Cambridgeshire HQ and they only produce the gin during the raspberry cropping season. Thanks to these plump raspberries, Pinkster is deliciously dry with a hint of fruit and an exceptionally smooth finish.
