Made using only natural ingredients, Darnley’s
Gin contains the best botanicals, the freshest Scottish water and pure spirit. They believe that by respecting the ingredients gifted by nature, and not using colours, sweeteners or artificial flavourings, they can create gin that brings a nuanced and authentic taste.
Produced in a derelict farm cottage, Darnley's Gin is the situated next door to it's sister distillery, Kingsbarns. In the gardens surrounding Darnley’s Gin Cottage, they cultivate as many botanicals as the Scottish weather permits. However, sourcing more exotic ingredients like cinnamon and grains of paradise requires warmer climates, so the distillery obtains them from trusted growers around the world.Darnley's continue to grow, forage and source in their endless botanical exploration.
The Navy Strength edition of the award-winning Darnley's Spiced Gin was inspired by the Royal Navy career of Sir Rosslyn Wemyss. Sir Rosslyn commanded ships around the world and rose to the rank of Admiral of the Fleet. During his time at sea, ships’ officers still enjoyed a daily ration of gin. The gin had to pass a gunpowder test to prove it was over 57% alcohol and therefore Navy Strength.
Using the same botanicals as Darnley’s Spiced Gin, they have added more juniper to the recipe and increased the proof to bring a bold Navy Strength gin with intense warming spice flavour.
