Speyside, was established in 1879. Originally founded by James Stuart & Co., financial difficulties led to its takeover by a consortium of local businessmen. Glenrothes gained a reputation for producing high-quality whisky, often used in blends like Cutty Sark and The Famous Grouse.
It uses water that runs through the Glenrothes estate the distillery. It has its own on-site cooperage where they check each cask is up to their standards. Most of Glenrothes is matured in Sherry casks (both European and American Oak), lending a richness to the spirit.
Rich sweetness, delicate spice, fragrant fruit, and the sophistication of age. This 18 year old marks a key milestone in the maturation journey.
After spending 18 years maturing, the Glenrothes spirit develops greater depth and complexity. The crisp, fruity character evolves, gaining richness and subtlety over time. Layers of flavour emerge, revealing deeper dimensions that linger on the palate. The result is a whisky that balances refined elegance with intricate complexity.
