Built for the sole intention of handcrafting the finest English Single Malt, at the time of the distillery's completion, it was
England's first whisky distillery in over 100 years. King Charles III officially opened the distillery in March 2007.
The English Distillery offer whiskies of a wide range of flavours. They produce both peated and un-peated whiskies and also use a variety of different casks for certain releases. They have whisky maturing in their warehouses to last 40 years. Alongside the single malts, they also produce a range of whisky liqueurs.
The English Gently Smoked - Sherry Hogshead is part of their small batch range, showcasing the expertise and passion of the distillery team in using various techniques to bring out the depth of flavours in the exceptional stocks of single malt whiskies.
Distilled in July 2013, and bottled in April 2025 after maturing in 1st fill Sherry casks. A taste of burnt sugar, charred oak, toffee, vanilla and dark cherries. With charred oak smoke, all with wafts of dried fruits and bonfire smoke.
