White Peak Distillery was founded in 2016 and is located in Ambergate, Derbyshire. The brainchild of Max and Claire Vaughan, it is Derbyshire’s first full-scale craft distillery, with a proud focus on the unique Derbyshire provenance and heritage. The building itself was an old wire works and is now part of a UNESCO world heritage site. They released their first single malt whisky in 2022. In addition to this, they produce Shining Cliff gin, a cask-aged rum, and the 1876 Single Malt Cocktail, all of which they mature, bottle, and label on site. As our closest distillery, we are proud to have been a supporter of White Peak since they were first established.
This is White Peak Distillery's 1876 single malt cocktail. A warming, perfectly balanced blend of their Derbyshire single malt spirit, with simple syrup, Angostura bitters and an absinthe rinse. Named after the year Johnson & Nephew established the Wire Works on the distillery site in 1876. Crafted by hand in very small batches at White Peak Distillery.

Single malt blended with simple syrup, Angostura bitters and an Absinthe wash. The single malt balances out the sweetness, and the Angostura and Absinthe add interesting medicinal notes.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
