Ben Nevis Distillery, located at the foot of Scotland's highest mountain in Fort
William, was founded in 1825 by "Long John" McDonald. In 1878, a second distillery, Nevis, was built on the same site. The two operated independently until 1908 when they merged under the Ben Nevis name. The distillery saw various ownership changes throughout the 20th century. In 1989, the Japanese company Nikka Whisky Distilling Co. Ltd. acquired it, and they still at the helm today.
This bottling from Ben Nevis pays homage to a truly special place. The water used to make the whisky flows down the mountainside. Passing through the natural rock formation of Coire Leis, it makes its way to the distillery at the foot of Ben Nevis.
Matured in specially selected first fill bourbon and oak casks over time, this unique single malt represents a distillation of the elements. A tribute to the breath-taking location and water source for this bottling.
