Bladnoch Distillery is located in the
Lowlands of Scotland. Situated on the banks of the river of the same name, it is the most southerly distillery in all of Scotland. Like many of the traditional Lowland distilleries, Bladnoch's spirit is very light and gentle. The distillery was founded in 1817 when John and Thomas McClelland were first granted a licence to distil whisky on their Bladnoch farm. For nearly a century, successive generations of the McClelland family grew and modernised the distillery. At its peak, the site had six washbacks and annual production of approximately 230,000 litres of alcohol.
The distillery has experienced numerous closures and reopenings throughout its long history, driven by various factors. Today, Australian entrepreneur David Prior owns the company, having acquired it in 2015. With a legacy of over 200 years in crafting single malt Scotch whisky, Bladnoch Distillery stands as the oldest privately owned Scotch whisky distillery. It boasts an impressive annual distilling capacity of 1.5 million litres.
Bladnoch 13 Years Old is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky, aged exclusively in ex-Bourbon casks. Bladnoch's Master Distiller, Dr Nick Savage, has hand selected every cask to bring together this refreshing and sweet expression. Notes of honey, refreshing citrus and cut grass.
