Speyside region. Built in 1973 by Chivas Brothers to supply malts for blends, the decision to change the name to Braeval came in 1994, to avoid any confusion with the nearby Glenlivet Distillery. Chivas Brothers still owns the distillery today, operating as a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard.
Created in 1968 by George Urquhart, the Connoisseurs Choice range has featured more than 2,000 bottlings from almost 100 Scottish distilleries. The label of each Connoisseurs Choice whisky narrates its story, including cask type, bottling date, strength, vintage, and tasting note.
Gordon & MacPhail, drawing on four generations of the same family, uniquely crafts these rare single cask and small batch expressions by applying their expertise in matching spirit to oak casks. These creations consistently remain non-chill-filtered.
This bottling of Braes of Glenlivet was filled in 1998 and spent its maturation in a refill American Hogshead. Bottled at 60.1%, this is whisky is a cask strength bottling. A limited release of 323 bottles.
