Croftengea is made at
Loch Lomond Distillery. Established in 1965, the distillery resides in a converted dye works in the town of Alexandria, just outside Glasgow. Looking to expand, the owners of the now-closed Littlemill Distillery founded the distillery and named it after the infamous nearby loch. Loch Lomond creates a range of different single single malt as well as single grain whiskies (both of which come in peated and un-peated varieties). The distillery utilises several different styles of stills to create their wide range of scotch whiskies.
Established early in 1994, Murray McDavid is a leading Independent Scotch whisky bottler. They use a variety of interesting casks during maturation to produce Inspired Scotch Whisky. Their ranges available include the Benchmark series, Mystery Malts, Cask Craft and select Grain bottlings.
This bottling is part of their ‘Cask Craft’ range of single malts from across Scotland. Artfully matured in a variety of wood types, displaying a fine balance of oak and spirit.
This single malt from Croftengea has a peat smoke character, with fresh fruits and creamy cereal grain. The use of Bourbon barrels from Kentucky, USA gives an influence of creamy vanilla, caramel, tropical fruit with sweet spice.
The smoke of burning peat has enriched the barley used to create powerful flavours within this dazzling dram. The influence of bourbon barrels balances this vibrant spirit with stylish flavours of sweet stone fruits that gently linger.
