Established in 2010, Edinburgh
Gin was founded by Jane and Alex Nichol, who had previously worked in the whisky industry. They were originally operating as part of the Spencerfield Spirit Company, until the company was acquired by Ian Macleod Distillers in 2016. The distillery has been based on East Market Street since 2024, with all distillation taking place in the city.
They are renowned for their diverse range of gins. These include classic London Dry-style varieties, as well as inventive flavoured expressions such as rhubarb and ginger or elderflower. All their products use 100% natural flavours.
Edinburgh Gin Botanics is distilled using plants sourced from the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh. The Edinburgh Botanics is renowned for its biodiversity and rich botanical collections. A wondrously sweet and menthol gin has been created in partnership, supporting their conservation and sustainability projects.
