Hibiki is produced by Suntory, one of
Japan's oldest and most renowned whisky producers. The company's history dates back to 1923, when Shinjiro Torii founded the Yamazaki Distillery, Japan's first commercial whisky distillery.
To commemorate Suntory's 90th anniversary in 1989, the company introduced Hibiki. Created by Suntory's chief blender at the time, Keizo Saji, who aimed to craft a whisky that would embody the essence of Japan. The name "Hibiki" means "resonance" or "echo" in Japanese, reflecting the harmony of various elements that come together to create this whisky.
Hibiki whisky is a blend of malt and grain whiskies from the company's different distilleries, including Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Chita. This blending process allows the master blender to create complex and well-balanced expressions that showcase the diversity of flavours found in Japanese whisky. Hibiki Japanese Harmony is a blend of more than ten malt and grain whiskies aged in various types of casks.
The 24-faceted bottle of Hibiki whiskies symbolises the 24 seasons of the traditional Japanese lunar calendar, emphasising the brand's connection to Japanese culture and heritage.
