Knob Creek is produced in Clermont, Kentucky by Beam Suntory. Jim Beam's origins trace back to when Jacob Beam started producing and selling bourbon style whiskey in 1795. In the late 19th century, the brand made the official transition to 'Jim Beam' after being marketed as 'Old Tub' since 1880. Just like numerous other distilleries, the company confronted challenges during Prohibition, when the United States outlawed the production and sale of alcoholic beverages. To survive, the distillery produced other products like 'medicinal' whiskey and even coal.
It has remained a family business for several generations, with various family members overseeing its operations. Fred Noe is now in the role of Master Distiller. He took over the job in 2007 as the seventh generation family distiller. Today, Jim Beam continues to be one of the best-selling bourbon whiskey brands globally.
To make Knob Creek Bourbon, each barrel patiently ages in white oak, while the distillers continue to raise the standards, fulfilling their commitment to full flavour. This has resulted in an unflinching balance of deep, pre-Prohibition-style bourbon with a robust oak taste, complemented with hints of smooth vanilla and layered caramel.

Taste - Rich, sweet, woody, full-bodied, almost fruity.
Proof - 100 proof.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
