Linkwood Distillery was founded in 1821 by Peter Brown in
Elgin, Scotland. Peter's son, William Brown, modernised and expanded the distillery in 1868, enhancing its reputation. In 1933, Distillers Company Limited, which is now Diageo, acquired Linkwood, continuing to use traditional methods, such as wooden washbacks and worm tubs.
In 1971, they built a second distillery, Linkwood B, to double capacity. Though they mothballed Linkwood A in 1985, Linkwood B continues to operate. Today, much of their whisky goes into blends like Johnnie Walker and White Horse, but Linkwood also enjoys a dedicated following for its light, floral, and fruity single malts, upholding its long-standing reputation for quality.
Formed in 1988 by Andrew and Brian Symington, the Signatory Vintage Scotch Whisky Company offers a great range of small batch independent bottlings. They bottle one cask at a time, capitalising on the unique colour and flavour characteristics of each individual cask. They source all-natural malts from the best distilleries in Scotland. Selecting the best single batches and bottling only the finest casks within those batches.
This bottling is apart of Signatory Vintage's Symington's Choice range. Distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2025, this whisky matured for 15 years in a 1st fill Oloroso Sherry Butt. Bottled at 55.6% ABV, an un-chillfiltered single malt, with no added colouring.
