Linkwood Distillery was founded in 1821 by Peter Brown in
Elgin, Scotland. Peter's son, William Brown, modernised and expanded the distillery in 1868, enhancing its reputation. In 1933, Linkwood was acquired by Distillers Company Limited, which is now Diageo, and it continued to use traditional methods, such as wooden washbacks and worm tubs.
In 1971, they built a second distillery, Linkwood B, to double capacity. Though they mothballed Linkwood A in 1985, Linkwood B continues to operate. Today, much of their whisky goes into blends like Johnnie Walker and White Horse, but Linkwood also enjoys a dedicated following for its light, floral, and fruity single malts, upholding its long-standing reputation for quality.
Created in 1968 by George Urquhart, the Connoisseurs Choice range has featured more than 2,000 bottlings from almost 100 Scottish distilleries. The label of each Connoisseurs Choice whisky narrates its story, including cask type, bottling date, strength, vintage, and tasting note.
Gordon & MacPhail, drawing on four generations of the same family, uniquely crafts these rare single cask and small batch expressions by applying their expertise in matching spirit to oak casks. These creations consistently remain non-chill-filtered.
This UK Exclusive bottling of Linkwood was filled in 2009 and spent its maturation in a first-fill Sherry Hogshead. Bottled at 53.8%, this is whisky is a cask strength bottling. A limited release of 329 bottles.
