Mac-Talla celebrates the rich heritage and distinct flavours of
Islay, one of Scotland's renowned whisky-producing regions. Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, a family-owned business with deep roots in the whisky industry, produces Mac-Talla. The Morrison family, involved in whisky distilling and blending for five generations, brings a wealth of experience and passion to their craft. They created the brand to honour Islay's unique characteristics and to offer whisky enthusiasts an authentic taste of the island. The name 'Mac-Talla', which means 'echo' in Gaelic, reflects the brand's dedication to capturing and echoing the essence of Islay in each bottle.
Islay, known for its peaty and smoky whiskies, provides the perfect backdrop for the brand. The island's rugged landscape, maritime climate, and rich peat bogs contribute to the distinctive flavours found in Islay whiskies. Mac-Talla sources its whisky from some of the finest distilleries on the island, ensuring high-quality and representative expressions of Islay's terroir.
The secret to Islay’s signature smokiness lies deep below its surface. Infused by the earth and seasoned by the sea, Terra delivers a taste that is both smoky and fresh.
Mac-Talla Terra is a heavily peated single malt Scotch from the Isle of Islay. Meaning 'earth', this perfectly reflects the peat smoke in this expression, deriving its characteristics from Islay’s ground. This whisky uses American Oak casks for all its maturation before being bottled at 46% ABV, un-chill filtered and without adding colour.
