Speyside whisky region. Alexander Reid, a barley farmer and teacher, founded it in 1824. Many widely consider it to be one of the highest-selling single malt whiskies globally.
Originally named “Maghellan”, Macallan was among the first distillers in Scotland to obtain legal licensing. Macallan has built its reputation on a product of outstanding quality and distinctive character. The distillery has a capacity of 15,000,000 litres produced by its 36 stills. Edrington currently owns Macallan, having acquired it from Highland Distillers in 1999.
The Macallan Sherry Oak 18 Years Old forms part of Macallan's Sherry Oak Collection. These whiskies features a series of single malt whiskies matured in hand-picked sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez for richness and complexity.
The Master Distiller has captured the flavour notes of the whisky. The warming, amber hues in the still life are a nod to the subtle notes on the nose of sultanas, orange and ground cinnamon. Key flavours of stem ginger, soaked raisins, sticky dates and dark chocolate depicted in this still life.
