Carefully selecting and combining local and traditional botanicals, Rock Rose gin derives its wonderful flavour from this thoughtfully crafted creation. The distillers have meticulously selected each ingredient for its unique flavour properties to craft the perfect taste.
Martin and Claire, the founders, conducted fifty five experiments before selecting the final recipe that captures a distinctive taste of Caithness. They distilled the very first batch of Rock Rose on the 17th of August 2014.
Official Tasting Notes
Nose - On the nose, you'll find a delicate bouquet of rose, mixed with deeper cardamom and a touch of citrus.
Palate - Fruity berries merge with a floral nose to give a full bodied and rounded gin. Bright notes ping as the juniper comes forward.
Finish - The sea buckthorns sharpness comes forward, but berries and a juniper heart round off the flavour. Smooth sherbet lemon notes have created a lingering finish.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
